How we operate

We are an impact-focused business. Our vision is to help build a more sustainable, more equitable Australia for future generations. We aim to work with our network of customers, business partners, community organisations and social enterprises to realise real change for our communities.

Our values

Dependability

We’re here for the long haul. At Djurwa we are committed to fostering long-term, sustainable relationships with the people who come into contact with our business. We build our relationships with our people, our customers and our communities through deliverability, reliability and trust.
We believe in working collaboratively with our stakeholders to deliver consistent, sustainability-focused, on-time and cost-effective waste and recycling services.

Impact

We are an impact-focused business. Our vision is to help build a more sustainable, more equitable Australia for future generations. We aim to work with our network of customers, business partners, community organisations and social enterprises to realise real change for our communities.
Our purpose is to deliver true economic engagement and empowerment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through employment, training and development opportunities.

Innovation

We pride ourselves on delivering the latest technology to our customers. From how our customers book their bin, to increasing recycling rates and superior waste reporting, we rely on the latest innovations to provide best-in-class customer service.
Through our Joint Venture partner BINGO, we offer our customer access to NSW and Victoria’s largest network of advance recycling centres, and their convenient waste management app MyBINGO for immediate booking and account access when and where you need it.

Safety first

We believe everyone has a part to play in the chain of responsibility when it comes to safely collecting, recycling and disposing of waste. The safety of our people, your people and the communities in which we work is our number one priority. We maintain our fleet of collections vehicles to the highest standards, carry out regular safety audits. Our drivers are monitored for fatigue and are highly skilled at completing bin changes safely, even in the most difficult locations.

Social procurement

We love to work with companies who want to make a difference for vulnerable Australians through their procurement spend.

We specialise in being part of your ecosystem and helping government, major projects and businesses in general meet and hopefully exceed your Indigenous procurement spend obligations under state and federal procurement policies. When you spend with us, you know your business is going towards helping someone rebuild their life. Djurwa is proud to have attained the status of Supply Nation Registered Indigenous Joint Venture and our FACCI Assured Affiliate with NSW IndigenousChamber of Commerce (NSWICC).
