Creating meaningful partnerships is at the heart of how we do business

At Djurwa Recycling and Waste Management, creating meaningful partnerships is at the heart of how we do business.
Last Friday, our team attended Yarpa Hub’s annual Meet the Buyer event at CommBank Stadium, a powerful gathering of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander business leaders driving innovation, excellence, and self‑determination across their industries.
Held during Indigenous Business Month, the event was a timely reminder of the essential role First Nations businesses play in creating jobs, preserving culture, and strengthening communities.
Throughout the day, our Corporate Development & Engagement Officer, Amanda Borg, and John Barilla from our JV partner BINGO Industries were matched with 12 outstanding Indigenous organisations. Each brought fresh ideas, strong capability, and a shared commitment to building a more inclusive and sustainable economy.
With 36 buyer meeting tables in operation, the event facilitated more than 430 meaningful business connections, an exceptional achievement by the Yarpa team!
At Djurwa, we believe in forming partnerships with purpose, relationships that uplift communities, empower First Nations businesses, and create long‑term opportunities.
We are grateful to Yarpa Hub for creating a space where these important connections can begin.
And to the organisations we met - thank you. We look forward to continuing the conversations and exploring how we can work together to create real, lasting impact.
