Making dreams a reality with our Djurwa Recycling and Waste Management Indigenous Youth Grant!
At Djurwa Recycling and Waste Management, we're proud to support initiatives that empower young Indigenous Australians to achieve their goals. One of the ways we do this is through our Indigenous Youth Grant program—a vital initiative designed to open doors and create life-changing opportunities.
Recently, this grant helped transform a dream into reality for Tyrone, a young Wiradjuri (Matriarch) / Greek (Patriarch) man with a passion for rugby league. With our support, Tyrone was able to travel to Las Vegas to represent the Greek International Rugby League Team in his first-ever international appearance. He impressed on the field, earning a place in the Greek 9s team and delivering an exceptional performance.
Tyrone shared, “You guys honestly helped in a massive way. I wouldn’t have been going if it wasn’t for you and your team. I owe you guys so much thanks!”
Tyrone’s achievements were nothing short of inspiring. He was named both Man of the Match and Player of the Tournament in the 9s competition—an extraordinary testament to his skill, determination, and passion. His efforts helped lead the team to an overall tournament win.
This story exemplifies the importance of investing in our Indigenous youth, giving them the support and resources they need to excel on both national and international stages.
